THIS PROJECT
This project included a 165,000 SF addition to an existing production, packaging and warehousing facility. The new addition is a production and packaging facility for Knorr and other brands of dry goods. It is comprised of a 65,000 SF footprint consisting of a three-story packaging area and a five-story process area. The project involved the installation of nine new high-speed packaging lines, including bulk bag handling system and weigh scales, three relocated packaging lines, case conveyor and three new palletizers and two relocated palletizers.
Additional requirements included the relocation of equipment from Canada, dust collection system, all building/process utilities and HVAC. The entire building is constructed to meet Unilever’s hygienic requirements, inclusive of, flooring, clean design supports/equipment, tube steel structure, cellular decking and epoxy painted coatings. Sitework required extensive underground utility relocations along with soil stabilization prior to construction of the building.
