THIS PROJECT
The Ohio State University Don Scott Airport Enhancements project is part of the development program to modernize the capabilities of the airport for the University, as well as to strengthen the central Ohio community. Being one of the few university-owned and operated airports in the nation that functions as a learning and research center, the Don Scott Airport Enhancements includes the construction of an aviation education and research facility to support the academics of the University.
The project consisted of:
- A 29,500 SF flight center with a fixed-base operator terminal, administration space, flight education wing, flight simulators, research labs and classrooms
- Four leasable hangars that total 71,000 SF
- Overall site improvements, such as utilities upgrades, entrance, drop-off and turnaround, and hardscape improvements
The current infrastructure has not been renovated substantially in the past 50 years, so the modernization efforts will keep The Ohio State University at the forefront of aviation education and innovation.
