KDC Solar Six Flags
About
THIS PROJECT
The Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey is one of the largest solar-powered theme parks in the world. The solar farm is contributing to Six Flags’ goal of being a Net-Zero carbon facility, and this installation provides 98% of the park’s energy needs. This 23.45-mW-DC project is comprised of four separate arrays – three long-span carport arrays and one post-driven, ground-mounted array. The carports, totaling 10.96 MW, cover over 2,000 parking spaces and utilize string inverters. The 12.49-mW ground array covers 40 acres of land and utilizes central inverters. There are 36,216 panels covering the ground array, and 21,300 panels covering three parking lots.
