Costco Meat Production Plant

About

THIS PROJECT

This Meat Production Plant is a 255,000 SF industrial processing food facility, and it is only Costco’s second meat processing and packaging facility in the United States. The facility includes five production lines for ready-to-eat hot dogs and meatballs, as well as raw processing for 10-pound ground beef chubbs, frozen hamburger patties and one-pound organic raw ground beef. There is also just over one mile of conveyor belts for equipment and 5.5 miles of pipe mains/branches for overhead MEP equipment. The building also includes:

  • Refrigeration engine room
  • Plant services
  • Support office space for plant production areas
  • Shipping and receiving line
  • Boxing area
  • Loading docks

The plant is a pre-engineered building with metal panels, concrete masonry units and precast wall types. In addition, the project involved 60 acres of sitework, including all wet and dry utilities to service the plant, employee parking, truck access and staging areas, and several stormwater retention ponds.
