Greencore Sandwich Process Facility
About
THIS PROJECT
This project consisted of a 107,000 SF, ready-to-eat process facility for sandwiches. The facility is a steel framed structure with insulated wall and ceiling panels for function, sanitation and food quality services. The project included:
- Sandwich production space
- Packaging area
- Loading docks
- Offices/administrative space
- Utilities and sitework
There are hygienic air handling units on elevated steel platforms, as well as ductwork distribution within the interstitial space and duct socks within the process rooms for even air distribution to avoid condensation. In addition, there are high-end finishes throughout the facility that include urethane floors, stainless steel door protection and USDA-compliant impact and high-speed doors. There is also complete segregation between allergen and non-allergen areas for high care and low risk to avoid cross contamination.
The project also included construction of a wastewater pre-treatment facility on the property with the use a dissolved air flotation system prior to discharge to the public municipalities sewer system.
