The renovation to Truman State University’s Baldwin Hall required abatement and complete interior demolition of an 85,700 SF facility. Improvements to the facility, which was originally constructed in 1938, included updated wall layouts, expanded lobby space, new stairwell extensions, ADA upgrades, advancements to the 1,395-seat auditorium and MEP/fire protection modernization. New spaces in the updated building include:

The building is heated and cooled by two new rooftop air handling units, which required substantial steel upgrades to the roof structure to support the additional weight. In addition, wall-mounted fin tube radiators were installed to provide supplemental heating and were fed via the campus steam lines. The building’s power was backed up by a standalone generator that was installed in the basement of the facility.
