THIS PROJECT

Hotel 1928 was the restoration and adaptive reuse of the former Grand Karem Shrine Building, a site listed on The National Register of Historic Places. The newly renovated hotel features:

  • 33 guest rooms
  • 6,000 SF of event space
  • Lobby
  • First-floor restaurant and café
  • Spacious library
  • Ballroom
  • Fourth-floor restaurant and bar
  • Rooftop dining terrace
  • Retail space

Exterior renovations included cleaning, restoration and partial replacement of the original masonry façade, as well as the addition of a rooftop bar and event deck. Two exterior elevators were installed to service the existing basement and rooftop addition.
