KIPP Change Academy is a college preparatory public charter school in Charlotte, North Carolina that serves grades K through 4. This project included two new single-story building wings, totaling 22,000 SF, and the complete renovation of a 12,000 SF church building. The three building sections are connected for a single facility, which features classrooms, an art room, a band room and multipurpose space for a gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria. The project encountered several obstacles with the existing site conditions and the soil, but despite the delays associated with this, the collective team was able to work together to complete the project prior to the start of the school year.
