Confidential Data Center
About
THIS PROJECT
This mission critical project converted a 54,000 SF, tilt-up warehouse into a data center. The facility includes 23,000 SF of new data center floor, 10,000 SF of electrical equipment rooms and 10,000 SF of office space. Work included:
- Complex, extensive MEP systems
- Installation of raised access floor
- Upgrades to the buildings dock areas
- Upgraded fire suppression systems
- Improved building security systems
This project used 3D modeling for all MEP work and equipment. In addition, the data center is set up to continue expansion as business grows, so major equipment can be added to this facility as the demand increases. To accommodate the future growth, we modeled all of the initial installation work, as well as all future equipment and MEP infrastructure to make sure it will fit with the current arrangement. This was an intensive effort that required regular BIM coordination meetings at least once a week.
This project achieved LEED® certification and one Green Globe.
