1775 Tysons Boulevard is an 18-story, 504,000 SF, Class A office building located just outside of Washington, DC. The project included a 396,000 SF, 10.5-story parking garage, two enclosed pedestrian bridges, a drive court plaza, and three parks. The office tower has a unique curtainwall exterior, including triple-glazed units, with stone and metal panel cladding at the lobby and penthouse levels. The foundation system for the office tower and garage supported by 920 driven steel H-piles.

The project includes two 10-foot-tall, post-tensioned concrete beams that carry a 65-foot-long cantilevered area of the 4th through 17th floor structure. The entire east and west sides of the typical floor slab are also cantilevered 14 feet to allow for continuous glazing, uninterrupted by columns. The project includes 12 passenger and one freight elevator, a 30-foot earth retaining wall, underground loading dock and truck tunnel, and extensive hardscaping at the parks and drive court.

The tower also features a stunning lobby with 26-foot ceilings and an elevated walkway that connects the two exterior sky-bridges. The lobby includes an installation by renowned artist, Spencer Finch. Based on panoramic photographs taken of the sky from the top of the building while it was under construction, Finch created a color palette that translated the light spectrum in the sky to multi-color striped glazing units in the lobby. Whiting-Turner coordinated the purchase and installation of the insulated glass units with laminated color interlayer in the lobby curtainwall, according to his specific layout. No two glass units have the same color pattern.
