THIS PROJECT

Fred Pirkle Engineering Technology Center is a 53,500 SF, state-of-the-art facility that serves as the new home to the Sam Houston State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering Technology. The facility houses a combination of laboratories, classrooms, computer laboratories, research areas, administrative areas and supporting spaces.

Specific areas of the building include:

  • Machine and woodworking shops
  • Small wet laboratory
  • Two clean manufacturing areas
  • Group meeting rooms
  • Faculty office areas
  • Faculty office areas
  • Electronics/robotics laboratory
  • Energy systems/sustainability laboratory

  • Wildlife/physiology laboratories with adjoining research space

The four-story building’s exterior features include a courtyard in the center of the building, a terrace accessible from the energy systems/sustainability laboratory, as well as a collaboration driveway and yard.
