About
THIS PROJECT
This project expanded and renovated the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, formerly the Quicken Loans Arena and home to the Cleveland Cavaliers. This project also included the addition of a seven-level, glass-enclosed atrium on the north side of arena. The atrium is a 67,000 SF, exterior curtainwall system with five entrance halls. The interior of the atrium includes a premium club area on the third-level mezzanine space.

Additional features consist of eight hospitality areas for fans to order food and beverages, and 22 meeting, banquet and event spaces. The arena also showcases over 100 pieces of artwork from over 20 diverse local and international artists. Some of the artwork on display includes large-scale sculptures, murals and drawings.
Throughout the project, our team maintained close contact with the arena operations groups to provide clear communication of construction activities and provided close coordination for upcoming events. Event coordination was also required with the neighboring Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians. Security and access were top-level concerns that we addressed with arena staff.
Power
PORTAL
The arena features a one-of-a-kind, LED display tunnel passageway known as the Power Portal. The curved-wall display is made up over 25 million pixels, 2,200 SF of LED panels and dynamic audio to provide fans with an immersive experience. The Power Portal can display content in 8K quality and share audio through d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape system. With an additional 730 television screens throughout the arena, visitors have constant access to each event. Our team organized a logistics plan with the owner to prepare the infrastructure around the display for the owner to complete the installation.
