THIS PROJECT
Las Vegas City Hall is a 310,000 SF, seven-story building on a 2.8-acre site in downtown Las Vegas. The structure is primarily steel metal decks with concrete, and the exterior elevations are accentuated with natural textured masonry. The interior lobby includes a glass artistic feature and light-colored stone and high metal ceilings. This municipal facility includes:
- Civic plaza
- Office spaces
- Outdoor terrace
- Council chambers
- Grand lobby
- Television studio
- Underground parking garage
The sustainable facility also includes a solar tree farm in the south plaza. The tree farm consists of 33 tubular columns mounted with bi-facial photovoltaic panels that generate 7% of the building’s annual energy use. There are also highly efficient photovoltaic modules on the roof of the building.
This project achieved LEED® Gold certification and was also awarded the Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association.
