The Aircraft Maintenance Hangar at Marine Corps Air Station in New River is a Type I hangar to accommodate a V-22 Osprey Aircraft with an attached, two-story operations and administration building. The entire structure is built on a reinforced concrete pile foundation with the 49,000 SF hangar bay constructed of structural steel cantilever trusses to provide a continuous 515-foot hangar bay opening. The hangar bay exterior is metal wall panels and folding fabric doors with a standing-seam metal. Interior amenities include an AFFF fire suppression system, infrared heaters, underground waste oil, compressed air, two five-ton bridge cranes and grounding loops. The project also incorporated new air field lighting control systems.

The operation and administration building is a two-story, 50,000 SF facility to house aircraft maintenance support facilities, teaching classrooms and offices. The exterior and roof match the hangar bay and include blast-resistant windows. The facility also includes SCIF space and integrates ATFP requirements. Supporting sitework included installation of a 40,000 SF concrete apron, an asphalt parking lot for 209 vehicles, stormwater ponds, high-security fencing, and major water, sewer and telecommunication relocations.
