Fairway Commerce Center
About
THIS PROJECT
Fairway Commerce Center is a 447,000 SF building to be utilized as industrial leasing space located in Avondale, Arizona. The building’s exterior consists of 36,900 SF of architectural metal panels and 236,000 SF of sitework and landscaping.
The roof structure was designed using castellated beams instead of the typical warehouse roof structure using joists or a panelized system. Castellated beam construction is considered a re-emerging roof structure design in the Phoenix warehouse market. The beams are made from a W-shaped beam that is cut in half horizontally and welded back together to form a hexagonal shape. This allows the depth and strength of the beam to be increased without placing additional stress on the structure.
