THIS PROJECT
The 120-acre, refrigerated distribution center campus includes nine buildings, totaling 1 million SF. The site is within nine miles of Orlando International Airport and required careful coordination with the airport. The project consists of construction of a:
- 720,000 SF main warehouse, serviced by a central ammonia refrigeration plant that cools storage spaces from -20⁰ F to 55⁰F
- 40,000 SF return center
- 35,000 SF fleet maintenance garage with fuel islands
- Dispatch center
- Security post
- Two fire pump houses
- Elevated employee walkway
- Over-the-road trucker restroom facility
- Three quarters of a mile of public roadway
The project also includes a 65-foot tall, 146,000 SF automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) consisting of 12 stacker cranes operating at -20⁰F and 0⁰F, humidity controlled fresh produce rooms and banana ripening rooms.
